Ambassador( retired) Syed Hasan Jawad served as Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, Singapore & Mauritius. He spent nearly a decade in China on two diplomatic assignments & speaks fluent Chinese. He has witnessed firsthand the transformation of China. He believes Pakistan is best placed to emulate China & benefit from China’s experiences. Pakistan has to reset its mindset & revise national institutions & adopt homegrown policies rather than relying on others & on handouts. The Academia, Industry & Government should work together under visionary leadership who should implement good governance. Ambassador Syed Hasan Jawad has written more than a dozen books on China. He now heads as Director, of the Chines Studies Centre at the National University of Science & Technology ( NUST) Islamabad.
